By no means was it a HOT day for fishing. I had to work hard for these two fish. I hiked alot and covered lot's of water. Through out the day I saw some fish caught. My usual favourite spot was loaded with guys, I was surprised because I got there at dark. For that many guys at that hole it was not worth staying long for. I saw a guy catch one right while walking down and that's about it at that hole. Fished it for a half hour and started hiking to find water with less fishermen and more fish. I got one take down but the fish spit the jig before I was able to set the hook. Next take down no doubt that the fish was hooked. After landing the fish I saw my hook shank bent 45 degrees. I was surprised that the hook stayed on, it was only in there because of the barb. It was a nice chrome hen. The second take down was the same as the last BOBBER DOWN!! Fish on! My medium light action 10'6" rod was perfect for the condition and the fish. I had full confidence that my knots wouldn't break with my light leader. A month ago I lost three fish on one day because I was using light leader, braided line with a medium heaving action rod. The knots broke after seconds of fighting the fish. I have not lost a fish yet due to my knots breaking using a longer lighter action rod. The kufa medium light 10 6 for 60 bucks is a complete steel.
Enjoy the pictures!
Fish on!!
