On the way home from forks we decided to stop by and check out this little known creek for the limited amount of steelhead that it gets. We had about an hour of daylight to kill and were just scouting it out for next time.

Throwing spinners in the tidewater was the ticket it turned out, but my pops isn't used to fishing barbless so he lost the only steel of the day on a vibrax. the creek was in great shape compared to all the other spots we'd hit, and looks to hold potential. I don't know how often they plant it with hatchery fish, but we saw some salmon roll, must have been coho. Didn't get to see the steelhead well enough to glimpse adipose so it may have been wild, we just don't know. A nice little stream popular with surfers at the mouth, will have to check back up on it when we have more time.

Nate, would that be "Salt Creek" as in the area of Salt Creek State Park? Can I ask where the creek is in relation to the state park? I go through there a lot during the summer. Nice park to family/car camp at.

It's where the Salt Creek Recreation area is. With the fort and campground and stuff. Right there at Cresent Bay.
