Fished the Skookumchuck on Saturday. The water was high and running really fast. I looked for a spot where there was an eddy that might hold some fish. I parked at the gate and walked to the first turn in the river near the water fall. There is a spot there where the water backs up and slows down a bit. I make about 4 casts into the the drift and hook one. I have him on for a few minutes and he spits the hook. Darn!!! 3 more casts and this time I set the hook harder, good for me, not so good for him. I land a nice 6 to 7 pound buck. Not the greatest day for weather and conditions but a fish in the net and a day on the river is much better than watching TV. Sorry no photos.
