I went out to fish on crescent bay after fishing banks lake the day before but got nothing on Banks but did see a bunch of catfish jumping, unfortunately I didnt have the right baits for them. so I headed to Crescent bay at about 11:30 the next day and saw a few crappie jumping but I was itching to get my first bass for this season. When you go fishing on crescent bay you head down a dirt road. Shortly after getting on the road you look to the right and theres a sign saying non motorized boats only, STOP RIGHT THERE! get out and to the right you see Crescent bay. Theres a large pipe coming in from roosevelt lake, (the intake for Crescent). Theres a five pound bass that likes to hang out right there in front lof the pipe, but it is very easily spooked. If you climb up a couple of feet from the pipe you can just sit there and wait for him to come out , bring your poloroized sunglasses, you need to get there in the early morning because thats when these bass do ALL there feeding, if the five pound bass isnt exciting enough theres a 10 pound monster there as well in the same spot. Both are very tough to catch, the day I was out there I tried all the things in my tackle box from rooster tails to plastic crawdad. The crawdad got the most response from the five pounder it swam right towards it then turned away at the last second. Night crawlers also got some good reactions, my best bet would be get there early in the mourning drop in a night crawler and just wait, but don’t stay close to your pole and don’t cast it out it only needs to be maybe five feet away from you. If you get there in the afternoon or middle of the day use a huge fish shape lure (the bigger the better) because the bass would want to keep its territory and fight off trespassers, unfortunately I never tried that there. If you catch either of these fish I hope you release them so someone else could catch them. GOOD LUCK
