Went fishing with my mom up Skate Creek on Saturday morning. We went up above the second bridge to stay way from other people and to fish for the larger hold-over's that lurk up there. Every hole had fish and with my glasses, I could see little ones darting all over the place. Hit smaller holes and landed fish anywhere from 10" - 14". Caught and released all fish. Small elk hair caddis, stone fly nymph, and black ants worked well. On the last hole I hit, I used my "Packwood Pearl" fly that I tied myself and caught a rainbow pushing 18"! Biggest fish I've caught out of Skate Creek. Ran down two holes, jumped a couple of times, and took and good amount of line with it before I brought him in and released. Nice Rainbow. Of course, biggest fish I've caught in that creek and my wife had the damn camera over in the Tri-Cities on "Women's Weekend"...PUKE!
