I fished the 363 Av Bridge(westside(LEGAL)).I arrived at about 5:30 and fished till 8:45. I arrived pondering about if there really was summer steelhead in the Wallace. I've heard about the Coho run in there but said "What the heck" and gave Steelhead a try. I started casting a jig and drifting off the bottom when on the first cast i saw a small 10" trout rise for a bug. Thought it was a cutt of something. Then at a different spot on the east side of the bridge I saw something a little bigger, maybe 25" or so, now that was big! Too bad it was on the not-legal-for-steelhead part of the river! Then on about my tenth cast, Bam! Something big hit me, I set the hook and my nice Okuma Trio reel dicided to fail me at my first steelhead strike ever! So my drag stuck, the fish leaped out of the water, did a front flip and unhooked itself in the prosess! So i just kept fishing but had no action the rest of the morning. Seems like the Wallace is famous for that. Thanks for reading! Tight lines! And may the fish be with you! Truthfully, Chris H, the 14 year old fisherman.
