Set out Saturday morning and went to the South Fork Snoqualmie River out in the Tinkham Road area to meet some family camping. Haven't been out there in quite some time and I must say I was disappointed by all the garbage people left behind...car parts, rain barrels, empty fuel canisters, and regular camping trash...And that was all just where my family was camping! But, the day was beautiful and sunny with a nice breeze coming up the river. We fished all day into the evening, when we had the best luck, but mid day to the afternoon was surprisingly productive as well. Waded down river and found several nice holes, that turned out nice rainbows 8"-11" for most of the day. It was going pretty slow initially until we realized that anything that had red/orange/yellow on it the trout couldn't leave alone. I was using a Royal Coachman # 12 and the fish were slaying it! The best catch of the day was a nice 14" rainbow. Found it pretty surprising, I was catching Dolly Varden all day.....released unharmed. Nothing really large, but man, what a beautiful fish! Never caught one before and must have landed 4 or 5 that day. Anyways, no pictures unfortunately, but just wanted to share.....
