Had not been here since last fall. Always enjoy this area and the fishing. Started coming here when log rafts for the long departed shake mill lined the shore. People would walk out on the logs to fish. Remember helping a wet fisherman after he fell in. Guess that was a while back.The lake seems less crowded these days. I like the new ramp. Shore fishermen had some fish as I left the dock at noon. Trolled at a slow pace as a steady breeze pointed me towards the far end. Hooked and released lip hooked fish the first 45 min. and found I was 3/4 down the lake. Turned around and caught only 2 on the way back to near the launch. Headed back down with the wind and soon had a nice limit. These fish always are great eating quality. Long lining with little weight worked best. Spoons and flies. Others seemed to do well here also. Glad opening day crowd left some fish for the rest of use. Good luck to all. DH
