took my dad, mom, and girlfriend to the river on Saturday. this being our first time on the river I would say a fish each isn’t that bad. considering the method we used compared to some others on the river. previous reports weren’t kidding about the snagging on this river, it is an embarrassment to fishing, my girl and I found a secluded hole then about 30 minutes later 2 trucks pulled up to the private property behind us. they came out with 1oz lead and a hood about 4 inches above it. I couldn’t tell you how many over there limit they caught. I saw one guy take at least 2 trips to his truck and back for more, a hole with 30+ fish had about 10 left within the hour. we took off to fish the rapids hoping to get one from a passing school.

despite the local flavor, I can’t wait to go back. it was my girlfriends first salmon and biggest fish to date about a 6-7 Coho.

yeah I saw a guy in a neon green work shirt come back down after getting a limit yesterday, it makes you wonder how people get away with it, I bet people go catch a limit down at the mouth then go upstream to catch another limit, good job on the catching.

People get away with this shit for the same reason people get away with shop lifting. People see it but dont report it. At my dads store (Safeway) there was three girls shoving bottles off hard-A into there purses. they have them on camera doing this while there are 5 other people down that same isle. watching them do this. All you have to do is say something to and employee.. or call the poacher hotline. 1 877-933-9847.save it into your phone. Even just reporting the areas you see this happening will help..

i talked to the game warden and explained the property and the trucks they were driving, he said they have been told about them, the warden seemed more interested in making sure people were not fishing below rodgers street. he checked me and my family out pretty close and when a guy walked by that i saw snagging early said hi to the warden didn didnt even get checked.... i see a pattern
