launched at the sultan river at first light today with the drift boat and there was fish jumping everywere!! kings, silvers, and a ton of jack chinook.

there was already people near the mouth of the river so we slid down about 200 yards, anchored up and starting fishing eggs and jigs under a float, jack after jack after jack. complete madness as far as the amount of fish we were catching. released all non-legal fish back into the water. we sat there for about an hr catching 2-3 pound kings then decided to get on with our float trip. about the third hole down there is a real nice long pocket and i watched a couple of coho rolling so i tied on a small green speckle dick-nite. pencil lead with a 8 pound floru leader( river is low and cryastal clear). anchored on the deep side of the river and started casting toward the shallow shore. about 3 min of this and bam! nice chrome bright coho hen. tag punched fish in the box.

spent the next 8 hours floating to lewis street bridge and i lost count of the amount of jacks we were catching. crackered off another silver right at the boat. seen a few steelhead holding in some pockets. watched a bald eagle snag a fish from the water. just a perfect day of fishing. only brouhgt home one fish but had a great time. cant wait for it to rain so we can get some more fish up there

it seems like the cohos are are all so small these past few years. a few years back the silvers were huge. now youll get a buck thats bigger than normal but still smaller that they used to be.
