got to the river this morning 9/2/12 at 630. right behind becu. drifted eggs under a float on my old trusty 9'6 ml rod. nothing...the fish were in there, and there moving, seen about 10 rolls and splashes. so I guess they we just not in the mood for eggs today. So i decided to drift a nickel plated dick nite on my new 9'6' fenwick, with a brand new trio reel. well. the river peaked high tide at 630. tied up my gear and casted. The river was still very high around 8 when i casted. at least a good 30 feet across. I had on a 1/2 oz pencil weight along with the dick nite. 1st cast BOOOM!!!! mother F'r into the bushs it went on the other side. Had on 30lbs powerpro mainline and 14lbs flourocarbon for the leader. tried to get it out, but the leader snapped. so back to drifting eggs. 9am rolled by, and i rolled out
