I had the extreme pleasure of fishing with Danny from River Chrome Guide Service this morning on our own private stretch of the Samish. If you've never fished it before forget whatever you've heard and go try the Samish with Danny while there's still time. We had a blast of a day chasing big kings up and down the tiny river. Not sure how many we hooked, but took us a while to get limits because they just weren't biting too strong this morning. After a lot of soft bites and some foul hookery (the holes were so stacked at some points it was hard to avoid them)we managed to get some beautiful fish on the beach. After chasing a chrome bright monster down stream about three football field lengths we lost it in a snag. Later in the day while fishing the hole we finally lost the beast in Danny hooked in to a fish and passed it off to me, and to our surprised a very tired 22 lb chrome bright hen just gave up and rolled right in to the net. It just had to be the one we got soaked chasing earlier in the day. Catching the one that got away, how often does that happen !?!?
