What a great day! After going fishless yesterday, the first day of salmon fishing in the Chehalis, we came back strong today with a chrome bright silver each! I took mine after a biteless first 2 or 3 hours, within 1 minute or two of switching lures from a blue fox spinner to a mepps flying c that I found on the Nisqually!Fish took a great jump clear out of the water. That lure on my rod accounted for all bites, including a good hit that failed to connect, also a vicious drive-by that stripped about 10 ft. from the rod after trying to rip it out of my hands before spitting the hook, and finally a really nice one that Melanie landed about 3:00p.m.We trolled back and called it a day after 3 days of 8 hours plus each, but over 25 lbs. of fish between Quinalt on Saturday and the Chehalis today. Must pick up 2 more of those lures tomorrow! Bob R

Those are some real nice coho! None of the 4 or 5 pounders that we've been playing with up north. Great report!

Those things like nate said look bigger than the stuff being reported in The Puget Sound rivers. Pretty looking fish but you're begging the question what color/weight flying c? Probably two of the nicer looking river coho this year in the reports! Thanx.

Thanks for comments. While I'm not into giving ALL my info(lol), specifics, as a general rule, it was a 7/8 oz. lure with orange body and silver blade. Good luck finding them, most places have been picked clean for salmon lures in the more popular colors and sizes. Bob R
