Me and my guy wanted to explore some access spots on the nooksack and see if the fish were in. Started up by deming under the bridge. We fished a slot between two nets, and below the net down river the natives were doing drift netting. They never pulled out any fish, but wait, my guy yells fish on. what are the odds. He brings in a nice bright coho, which sadly rolls off the hook when he got it onto the bank and back into the water. It was super exciting to pull a fish out when all the nets were empty. After a bit of watching the indians with no fish we head down stream towards ferndale. We park at the slater bridge and walk down the river trail to watch the natives netting the lower river. And nothing in their nets either. Must be pretty slow on the nooksack.
