Went out this morning and hit the school road and went up there to the little plunking bar. heard fishing jumping before it even got light out so i got pretty excited. started casting a speckle green and nickleback dick nite, 5 foot 10# pound leader with a pencil lead dropper. had one good solid hit but i was to busy yelling at my dog to set the hook. got one more take down right as i casted out and hooked up solid, one problem though, ALWAYS CHECK YOUR DRAG!! i didnt know it but i had gotten some sand in between my drag discs in my reel and it was almost locked up. busted that fish off.
one thing i did notice is the fish are jumping 5-10 feet off the other side of the river so i think tomorrow im gonna walk in from the other side and drift some eggs under a float over there and see how that does. kinda hard to effectivley fish that side from the school road. the guy above me hooked up with one but lost it. stopped in at the triangle and the lower river guys are doing good with dick nites. try it again tomorrow! tight lines!
