Hit 112th at lunch today, got there about 11 and fished for about 1.5 hours. Nets were out and covering the river (always a bummer to see).

Tied on a DN and first cast, wham! Thought I had a decent size fish on and he started peeling out line. After a couple min of fighting, I started to think he might be foul hooked. Got him close to shore...Yup, right under the fin....

I manage to get him unbuttoned without having to pull him from the water and he kicked off as soon as the hook came out.

Other than that it was pretty slow. I did manage one more fish (hen..eggs!) before I decided it was time to head back to work. I caught that one twitching the jig.

Kind of slow out there, and again, the nets are kind of a buzzkill, but other than that, was nice weather and always great to break up the work day with a couple hours on the river.

Oneshot, the nets are even farther upriver than 112th. There's an entire gauntlet just below the 112th bridge and a couple nets up above the bridge too. Not sure how far upriver it goes.

Hey everyone,

I fortunately work right near the Mouth of the Duwamish and I can tell you without any doubt that the nets have been in right at the Mouth every single day since last week. Every morning I come into work and the nets are stretched half way across the Mouth of the Duwamish. They were also stretched out in the bay all last week. Well over 400 yards of net were stretch across the bay plus at least another 50 yards on either side of the Mouth of the Duwamish. They were in today as well, it is starting to make me wonder what kind of deals they have in place with the State and the WDFW!

I love the netting operation. Besides the many other reasons I can think of there are 3 main reasons.

1. It produces tax dollars. (Natives buy fuel then net the fish and sell them on reservations. People buy fuel to get them to the reservations to buy the fish)

2. It decreases global warming.(Natives fill the back of pickup trucks with ice to keep their beers and fish cold while for sale in the parking lot of the casino. All the ice melts and turns to very cold ground water, therefore lowering the temp. of local streams and rivers.)

3. It helps people with Gambling Addictions (people that would have spent that $10 bucks in a casino often buy a fish out in the parking lot instead and it reduces the amount they loose on gambling that night.
