At this point, this is officially my most effective year on the skagit for coho EVER, honestly, i think the low water is helping me out, the fish are pooling up in the deep holes and taking eggs early WELL. When the sun comes out, its over, but the egg bite has been UNREAL! first 2 hours of the AM, in the right hole with a large school holding will produce bobber down after bobber down. rockport and above, we found a HONEY hole backwater near rockport today, and will be fishing it quite a bit from now on, no people in sight, we short floated eggs, let the float drift in circles in the backwater, BOOM.

Now this is no joke, no exaggeration, at all, first 12 casts of the day, 12 bobber downs, 12 fish on, lost 3, landed 9 of them. it slows from every cast to every 5 casts after that, but we ended up landed 17 coho by 9:30 am today and called it quits, some dark, most chrome, kept our 8 and called it a day, this coho year is UNREAL, they get stuck in the deep holes and swallow eggs, we had to keep some darker fish today because 3 out of 4 fish are swallowing the eggs so deep theyre practically bled out before you land them, its crazy, its like trout in a hatchery, Bobber down!

From others I've talked to, you are one of the few giving fisherman some unreal fishing on the Skagit. Most look at me very suspiciously when I tell of my morning with you. Some old timers I've met on the beach just nod knowingly and tell me of stories of days gone by and totally believe me without pictures. That 3rd picture and the way you line them up....well done. How did you have time for good grades, basketball and fishing and photography?

Your killing me FF! I've only caught two out of the Skagit so far! Late evening bites are ok but I'm guessing the butt-crack of dawn is when you're on the river. Anyways.... Do you have any news on the Cascade? I have $200 bucks saved up for me and my dad. When the fishing gets hot just give me a pm!
