Have my two days off so me and my guy went to an awesome river this morning! Not the Union. The fishing was off the hook! River was full of silvers! A constant stream of approximately 30 fish pods coming upstream constantly! The best year on this river for silvers! The river was packed/stacked/loaded! Hint: its got summer chum too, so we saw a few of those. All silvers dime bright and covered with sealice. Best part was these fish were not spooked at all, theyd swim right by you, and when youd cast amongst them they wouldnt spook at all. They showed interest in dick nights, chartreuse blue fox vibrax spinner, red beads, different jigs (but nothing dark) and basically anything green or chartreuse. My guy caught his limit by just throwing a green corkie with chartreuse yarn and reeling it in slowly, with clear water we got to watch the fish swim up and take it. Dunno why they felt like they needed to bite it. Met some awesome locals that found my guys brand new lamiglas rod he left behind. Selective gear rules so no bait or scent. Egg goo on my rod is from last week, dried on. Going out tomorrow morning! With the river so full of fish with willing biters it would be a great place to take a kid!

Wow, nice fish! Were you fishing the mouth? Think my kid will have to wait for next year's pinks but nice job catching some bright coho.

Oh wow, I didn't even know the Union had silvers that ran through there. Might have to try it out when I head back to Bremerton for the weekend, haven't fished that river for trout since I was like 12 before they shut it down for a couple years.

Just for clarification. we didn't fish the union but a different river in mason county. I don't think you can actually fish the union right now with there summer chum monitoring going on.

Why do you make it so confusing, where did you fish?

I know exactly which river you fished but my lips are sealed don't worry. It's too far of a drive for me anyway but I am sure they are stacked there with coho!! I saw some chum there in the summer;)
