Well it aint no secret now a days so i don't mind posting a report on the wallace. Fished it 20th, 21st, 22nd, and today the 24th. The weekend, 20th and 21st, were the "hot" days getting multiple downs worthy of a five star day but the 21st i was being stupid choppin some blackberry bushes out of the way with my filet knife and i broke it. D*%m mother nature is strong. For the 22nd and 24th fishing slowed way down. Water level came down and water clarity went up but still managed a few fish both days and only 1 worth keeping plus i wanted the eggs out of her. Today when i went out i really had to work at it. I parked off the highway and went up and down the river totaling a couple miles. Also to all the fishermen if you fish the sherman hole, bend hole, corner hole, what every you want to call it DO NOT WALK THROUGH THE LANDOWNERS PROPERTY. Have some respect for them and their property. There are many clear signs that say NO TRESPASSING/PRIVATE PROPERTY. Imagine if it was your land and people were constantly walking through it and leaving trash, you wouldn't like it either. Don't be lazy and just walk up in the water or walk down from the hatchery. Also if you fish underneath the hwy 2 bridge, pick up your trash/old fishing line. I tried that spot the 22nd and geez the weekend warriors trashed the place. Finally i talk with almost everyone i fish next to as long as they don't have bad english and some had the nerve to get mad at the land owners for putting up a wood board blocking the trail. I politely told them well there is a private property/no trespassing sign 5 feet away from you and to have some respect for them and the reason why they did that is because the landowners did put a chain link fence across the trail but some a$$ hat tore it out. Consider it being lucky that the landowners haven't called the cops yet. One last thing, I saw some questionable fishing happening. A 10ft leader is not needed. The wallace coho do bite. Use float and eggs (store bought eggs do work even tho they have a bad rep). Float and jig tipped with shrimp, don't believe me, fish with me and i'll show you if you can keep up with me.

Thank you montana_sam. Just had to get it off my chest because one of my favorite rivers to fish is getting trashed. Even though everyone and their family knows about the wallace i still have spots that i go to and there is no one to my left or right.

Very well put, But a person who rants and raves rather than informing the land owner or the proper authorities while unlawful acts are happening are just as wrong. I do not wish to start an argument, but just to encourage you to phone the fish commission next time. I hate people who snag fish.

usarmyret- i do talk with the landowner because he's an avid fishermen himself and i see him often and he is being nice at the moment to the people walking through his property but if it gets worse he'll start calling the cops. You are right i should start calling the fish commission about snaggers. I also like to believe karma will catch up to them, which sometimes happens instantly. Also i don't believe i am just as wrong as the snaggers or litter bugs. I have talked to numerous ethical fishermen who have called the proper authorities about people snagging fish and the proper authorities take forever to show up and by that time the snagger is gone. If you don't wish to start an argument don't compare me to a person who leaves trash, trespasses, and snags and keps fish.
