You know that guy that drives you nuts? The guy that is pulling in fish when you can't even catch a rock.....?
Today, that guy was ME! Yeah, some will say I'm a dork, but this was the first time I've limited, so I'm pretty stoked...I think I've earned it.
Got to the river @ 112th just after 9am. Light rain had started. Tide was out. I took up residence down below the bridge at the big rock. Fished next to a couple other guys for a few casts before deciding I didn't like my angle, so crossed the river and moved upstream. Only took one rod with my Chartrugly II. Took about 10 minutes to twitch up my first buck. About a 5# fighter. Got'em bonked and back to fishing. Almost immediately had a taker, but must have hit the jig on the upstroke as I felt it pull free, so missed the hookset. Took about another 15-20 minutes before I had another one smack it. Solid hit and strong fighter. Made some good runs. Turned out to be a good sized hen...guessing 6-7 lbs. It was getting about time to head to work, but wanted to see if I could fill my punch card for the first time, so made a few more tosses. Took about another 10 minutes to twitch up my third. Smaller than the previous two, but just measured in as an adult. Also a hen and loaded with sealice. There was sealice on the two hens, but none on the buck....all chrome though, so WOOT! I marked the day a 5 as it wasn't fish after fish and I just barely limited in the time I had. Light rain was sporadic and no breeze.
And Hooked, it was nice to finally meet you. :)
Tight Lines everyone.
