Man! had a great time Sunday fishing the Green, despite falling into the river... LOL. with my phone (doesn't work no more) Had to wait for the KC to open gate but hit the river at first light.
Don't know what I did but bam! in the river I go, above my waders and this was right at first light, so after climbing out of the river I thought... I'm not goin home yet, ( I haven't been able to fish for 3 wks, out town), moved down river a bit and started swinging a fly, I think a dozen casts and fish on! not sure what it was, I seen at the surface but just couldn't tell what it was and I think I was tryiing horse him in and pulled the hook out.
Quite a few more casts later fish on! this time it came out of the water... nice looking silver, jumped twice and spit the hook...
Practiced my casting for awhile before hooking into a nice size trout, this time I adjusted the drag and took my time bringing him in. Brought him home probably about 12-13"... fed two of us just fine. I was going to take a picture but when I opened my wader pocket to take my phone out, I realized it was sitting in a couple of inches of water all day.... a picture ain't hap'pn today....
The greatest thing was this was a first for me hooking into anything bigger than 4" let alone taking a 13" trout home for dinner. Next time I know better... don't horse them in.
Tight Lines!
