Today i caught 4 smallmouths at Groat Point by Bellevue. The biggest was a nice 20 incher that i weighed at a little over 4 pounds. The others were all about 10 to 14 inches maybe about a pound but i didnt measure them. Started fishing at 5:30 and all fish caught from about 6:00 to 6:45. I was using a green crankbait with an orange belly. Fished until 8:45 at different spots. I tried under the I-90 bridge between MI and Bellevue but didnt get much action except saw many boats fishing the same area, i think it might be a little fished out because about 5 or 6 boats were fishing just when we were there. Also tried the mouth of the mercer slough for largemouth and didn't get any. I found Groat Point to be the most effective area by far. The fishing for smallies is really starting to get good though I think as they start to spawn. good luck!
