First time posting in awhile. Went to Kennedy Creek along with half of the state of WA today! Anyway after scouting out the creek for awhile I found a slot in between a couple of nice guys that were hooking chums on a regular basis. I started out throwing a green, blue, black+ and chrome colored corky with green yarn and couldn't get them to even bump my line. Watched the other guys and noticed that orange and green combos were the ticket so I switched over and bam! Fish on! Unfortunately hooked the big buck in the back so I pulled it free. A few more casts and another hookup, this time in the lower jaw. A few quick powerful runs and I put him on the bank, just long enough to remove the hook and turned him loose. About a half hour later I got my second one to the bank, this one had actually almost swallowed my corkies and hook but I was able to pull it out with some needle nose pliers without hurting him. Hooked a couple of other fish but they pulled free. I probably saw more guys walking out with their limits than not. Great day on the water and the rain was only part time. Get 'em while they're there!

Sorry, no pics but then you know what chums look like anyway. :-)

I drove by there on our way back from Hoodsport and it looked crowded~ how is the crowd there? We only fish Hoodsport in a boat but even then you get some people with attitude. I want to try Kennedy some day from shore~ is it determined by tide?

Hiya salmonbarry, yeah "crowded" is an understatement! lol But the people that fish there generally don't have a lot of "attitude" they usually make room for you if you want to squeeze in. And yes, the best time to fish is usually at low tide with an incoming tide. The tide rises fast when it starts to come in, so time your trip accordingly. Tight lines!
