Finally got to get on the water before 9am. Got to the river at big eddy about 7:30. Water was a good height, no rain, and very little wind, so was looking good. There were some guys out on the island already, so tried at the mouth to Tokul for a bit with no luck. After a while I decided to wade out to the center and try my float and jig (peach/white) at the top of the drift. A couple casts later I had a take down and had one on a for a split second. I had a weak hookset, felt a couple headshakes, and that was all. At least it was a little excitement. Saw a few caught, but most of the anglers were not seeing any action. Rain started falling around 9:30 and the breeze was picking up. That was about the time I had to leave. Again, not one of those "on fire" days, but there are some fish to be had.
