Been a while since I've posted a report. Mostly because I've been skunked on most outings and have a hard time admitting I'm not as good of a fisherman as I would like to think I am. Been trying for my first winter run of 2012 over the past several weeks without much luck, but that all changed this week.
Wednesday I decided to to hit Reiter and try one more time, and glad I did. Arrived to the river about noon and fished spoons the entire time. Really have taken a liking to hardware over the past summer and was excited to be rewarded with this bright 6lb hen. She fought well for being on the smaller side, especially when she jumped into the rapids for a bit and made me work a bit to get her to the bank. River was low and clear with very little action. There were a lot of fisherman and saw only 4-5 other fish caught the entire time I was there. Can't believe I'm saying this, but sure wish we had a few good days of rain or high temps. Still an awesome day out on the river and excited to get my first winter run of the season. Ended up landing one more that was really small, probably about 4lbs. Didn't get a chance to take a picture of that one, but counted it towards my personal goal this season of 30+. Only 28 more to go :)
Thanks to all that post and share your awesome (or not so awesome) experiences. I've learned a ton from this site and am grateful for all those that contribute. Thrilled I finally have something worth sharing. Good luck to you all and hope to see you out on the river sometime.
Happy New Year!
