Well, the secrets out now, and although the fishing has slowed since the opener, there are always fish in here somewhere. We love the fast current fighting big fish! We hit four in a half day this morning, just have to find where they are hiding out. Sneaky! They're also hanging out in the big eddy, and the cable hole has been putting out fish. There are some big ones in the creek though!

Eggs are the ticket in the creek to get that finicky low water fish to hit, next best is a yarn ball drenched in sand shrimp oil. Heavy leaders for the big ones, they can pull hard! For each two you hook, you'll get one in in some of these spots. Look for the water to go up and it'll be really good again.

Yes, I teach lessons on Tokul for those who would like to learn there. It's a great place for beginners to get the hang of steelhead fishing.

Hey Nate. Nice work.

Can you explain me your interpretation on the Selective Gear rules? Did they end on November 30th? I am having a hard time understanding the multiple dates between salmon and winter steelhead fishing until 2/28/2013.

@ Maksoot: Selective gear rules mean no bait, no trebles, no barbs. They are not in effect on the Snoqualmie at the moment, they end on nov 30th. The restrictions at the top and their effective dates affect all species, so they are seperate from the species specific dates within the other regulations. So yes, you can use bait, barbs and even trebles in the Snoqualmie, it is anti-snagging rules in Tokul Creek, which means single point hooks less than 3/4 inches, but otherwise bait and other lures are allowed.
