My son and I hit the boat ramp at the Cove around 8:30 am and as usual there were some boats pulling out with their limit aready in the hatch. The weather was good, no wind till around lunch time which seems to be normal for the lake.
We headed out on the lake and proceeded to fish from the point to across the lake. Trolled at app 1 mph using wedding rings (one green and one red) single slpit shot for weight, single hook. The fish finder showed fish right at surface or 10 feet below. We started getting strikes immediately, but due to the small single hook we missed the first couple of strikes. We reacted better and shortly there after we we on the mark and could not miss.
We had our limit in the boat before lunch, quality size and quality fishing. Lots of fun fishing this way simply no room for mistakes. If there was any slack in the line or we missed the bump the fish would be gone.
The only other comment I would make is to hit the lake earlier, the larger ones seem to hit earlier in the day or as the sun sets. Be prepared for the wind.
