Well... this was a bummer. It's the nicest weekend weather of the year. I headed over to Redd's in the canyon for a guided float trip on the Yak. A friend from work had invited me, which even though the fishing stunk, I sure appreciated the time on the river.
We dropped in at Redd's and floated 6-8 miles to the campground, can't remember the name.
We through "Squawlas" (sp?) If you fly fish... you know what I'm talking about. and when not throwing dry flies, we nymph fished. Fish seen.... 0 Fish to the boat....0 1 hit on my Sqwala... and the friend had a very short hook up on something?... sorry.
At least we didn't see other boats hooking up, so maybe that was the thing for the day. Beautiful scenery, wild turkey gobbling on the shore, on AMAZING freakin' lunch provided by reds, and a friendly guide, Mike.
Afterwards we made a little exploration to the confluence of the Teanaway and the Yak. Wow! this was a sweet, fishy looking stretch. We only fished about 15 minutes with no results, but I have found a new hangout.
