My wife and I thought we would go up river to fish steelhead since the pinks aren't in that heavy yet. We tried a new spot up river from Reiter Ponds. We hiked down to the river to check it out and wow. There was steelhead jumping all around us. The river was so low and clear I could see them swimming all over. We must of ran into a nice school of 17+ fish any where from 3 lb to 12 lb. I told my wife to stay as I went back to the car for our poles. I hiked back down to the river and started fishing around noon. We started with a float and a black and white jig. Tried pure white jigs, peach and I even threw a blue one on not one bite for nether my wife or I. Fish were holding to the hole we fished all day. They would jump every couple minutes. Taunting us jumping with in nets reach. But no bites. I switched up to a gold and chrome spoon with some salmon egg sent and we started getting bites. My wife got the first bite I saw a fish breach the water as she said something to me the fish spit the hook and sent it flying our way. We went back to fishing as I got hit after hit. Then I felt a tug went to set the hook and lost my gear. I switched to a lite pink and white corky as the fish movement was slowly coming to a end. We spent a good 5 hours out there didn't get to bring home any fish today. I rated today a three because it was a beautiful day a new spot was beautiful and I never seen so many steelhead jumping in one spot before. My wife and I had a great time just watching them steelhead jump. We thought we would stop by the Wallace Hatchery on the way home to see the kings jump and took a few pictures
