First time fishing the Puyallup and it was a mixed feeling. Fished behind Freddy's and everyone was consistently hooking, landing, losing, and CNR pinks all morning. My luck was no different after running up and own the levee multiple times. Managed to hit the water by 6:00 am and limit out by 6:30 am--CNR last two pinks in search of a silver but with no luck. Due to prior engagements, with time against me, I decided to keep whatever pinks I could catch so I can go home. My bites was not as consistent as other fishermen/women due to my short leader--2 ft. to 3 ft--whereas, everyone had around 5-7 ft. leaders.

Like everyone else, color didn't matter and a lack of corky made little to no difference...at least for pinks.

So you didn't run a corky? Just yarn?

Mizm05' I originally used a corky with minimal luck for the first 5-10 minutes. After that it was corky-less for me and got a bite every 2-3 casts.

fishingthepacknw..................... well aware. lol. I'm commenting on the fact that they have all "humped" suddenly. both the fish being pulled from salt and rivers a lot of them seem to have suddenly grown their humps. a week ago it seemed like most were still looking pretty normal.
