My cousin and I launched from Lowell this morning around 9:30am made it to our fishing spot up river around 9:45am. My cousin was the first with his pole in the water. I had to change my Steelhead gear to a pink squid jig. I drop in my line and my cousin said fish on. He played the fish for awhile before it spit the hook. 10 minutes later a flock of geese flew over head and one hit the power line so hard it snapped its neck. The other geese flew off as the one goose hits the water with in feet of our boat. Had to pick it up for some pictures. LOL. We put the bird back into the water and started fishing. Fish on I caught one about 4 lbs and he put up a good fight. I get the fish in and my cousin put his line back into the water. I put my fish on the stringer and I hear fish on. I put my poke down to net my cousins fish. As soon as I got the hook out my cousin puts his line back into the water. Fish on he said as I'm still putting his last fish on the stringer. It was bite after bite. Every fish put up a good fight. We ended up with 6 and lost 8. And ended up packing up by 1:30pm cause my cousin had to be somewhere. Needless to say the fishing was so good we would have got our limits if we didn't have to go. The weather was beautiful geese falling from the sky fish on our lines so I rate it a 5.

These fish are feisty this year and the are soft lip. Do tighten your drag to much.

Nice report, thank you! I do advise to be careful when having fish on a stringer overboard. I've seen seals take several fish from stringers before. FISH ON!

We keep our stingers short just because of that. I lost a 15 lb Co ho last year trolling by the airplane. I try to keep the fish from hanging past the bottom of the boat. Lost nothing since we shortened them and we have seen seals take many fish from many stringers.

We did well in the salt yesterday, got 11 Pinks and 1 Silver. But Tuesday we took my boat up the Sno above the power lines and didn't do very well, got 2 for the 3 of us. There were not many fish around, very few rollers and jumpers. I think they are staging for a big rush up the Sno but until then its kind of inconsistent. There is a huge bunch of Pinks in the salt, so when they really decide to move it should be spectacular..
