Got out on the river around 1:30 and noticed alot of boats coming in. Fished above Lowell with pink squid jigs. Managed to get 7 nice bright pinks in the boat with 5 people aboard when the slack tide turned around and the tide was coming in. Waves of fresh pinks. Had one actually jump in the boat after being hooked. Was a fun time with the kids getting the fish. Got home about 7:30 and filleted the fish.
Only one buck and lots of eggs are curing as I write this. Was going to go out this morning but have a sick kid and to be honest, i'm tired since this was my first weekend off since June.
We hope to go out next weekend at least 2 days and try for some more. Saw fish being hooked from boaters and bank fishers.
It was nice to just get out and enjoy the friendly chatter amongst the fisher people. No jerks this time.
