Went out in the pouring rain with my fishing partner Joe on Armstrong last Sunday. We thought it would be the perfect time to go out as the crowds would be diminished. Boy did we get that right. Only 5 or 6 boats on the water and a small scattering of bank fishermen (and women). We trolled a small pheasant tail nymph on sinking line and caught them 1 after another. Funny thing is the harder it rained the better the fishing and the fewer the boats. We watched everyone leave as we got more and more soaked. But with the fishing so good who would quit so easily because of a few showers.

Most of the fish were in the 10" to 13" range, some with the most glorious coloring. Beautiful fish. We found that if we stopped trolling to let the lines sink we would get a hit on almost every takeup. We caught and released quite few and soon lost count. Great day on the water!!!!!

I guess the moral to the story is to not let a little rain bother you. The fish don't care, they are already wet!!
