Took myself and my dad out to the White Chuck River past Darrington to try for Cutthroat and Dolly Varden. This hidden little river produced the state record Dolly Varden back in 1999. The current where I fished was EXTREMELY fast, need to look for slower spots so I can keep my hook in one spot. So no luck today. Still a beautiful day to be in the North Cascades, and saw plenty of tasty-looking Ruffed Grouse along the road, may need to check the waterfowl and upland game regs regarding this area. ;)
Anyone know of any good spots in any of the other local rivers where I'm likely to hook a Dolly? The Sauk is closed to retention this year and the Suiattle has too much silt from the rain and logging upriver to fish.
