I'm calling this a 4 star day not because I caught a ga-jillion pinks on the river today. Just give me a second. On the river I could be around a dozen or so people, either on shore, or boats, using the same gear, the same techniques, and still be out fished by a 3 year old. Unfortunately that last part was true a couple years ago.
I can not catch or hook a fish on a river to save my life. Well today that changed. I drove to the Snohomish river at Langus Park - because it's the only spot on the river I know how to get to with bank fishing. A half hour in 4 boats insist on anchoring right where I'm at - why this always happens I will never know.
Anyways the gear for the day was the small pink buzz bombs, twitching gear was with me but I didn't have a rod light enough to cast them so I went with what I had. I fished for maybe an hour and a half, hooked into and land 5. All fish were released unharmed. One hit so hard I was stunned as it pealed line upstream. Now I have line in the tree branches down low, I can't see squat as far the fish is concerned, but I did get it to the shore and got my gear back.
So all in all a decent day.
