Hadn't fished the Green yet this year, but got home early from work and decided to take a trip south to give it a go. Arrived at about 3:00 PM, just about at low tide. Fished at Tukwila, under the I-5 Bridge. Lots of fish jumping and rolling, Pinks (old & new), and a fair amount of Coho too. Started with a chartreuse Blue Fox #4, nothing on that for an hour, so I changed up to a 1/2 & 1/2 Dick Nite with a pencil lead dropper... drifting it through the slot where fish were pushing up river. About the fifth cast, WHammm... fish on! She hit it like a freight train and headed for the Sound... a couple of explosive leaps out of the water, then back upstream, finally got it to the shore and netted. A beautiful, silver bright hatchery hen. By the time I was ready to fish again, the tide was slowing the current and the drift was gone. Tried several colors of the Blue Fox for the next hour, had one solid hit, but didn't stick. Left for home at 6:00. Not bad for a three hour, impromptu fishing excursion! PTL!
