My catch for today was this fish that i caught within the first 5 mins of fishing. Anyway I let it go because I thought it was a King. Just before i was gonna bonk it i noticed that it had black spots and a olive back and then i noticed that it had the fin in the back and thought oh #s*** I need to release this this is a native King. SO being o good fisherman I wanted to get a photo to show and released it, I also notice instead of get that kind of pink color a coho usally gets it was more champange or bronz in color which led me to believe it was a Chinook. Anyway seen other Silvers getting caught across river from me as well as up river about 75 yards.

Nice fish! The picture makes it slightly difficult for me to tell, but the fishes tail is going to be the easiest way for you to differentiate the two. Silver, will have very little to no spots and only at the upper part of the tail. While a Chinook, will have much larger spots all over its tail. Does kind of look like a silver to me but hey, you let a native fish go! nothing wrong with that.

THANKS GUYS, with the rain, fogged and wet eye glasses and low light I have no regret letting it go, it was number 13 for me for the year and still have 8 in the freezer.

Looks like a coho. Nice catch. It's all about the sport. Not what you can keep
