Fish sunday on the upper Skagit and Cascade rivers with Danny from riverchromeguide services. First of all I gotta give props to Danny for the excellent services he has provided for the two trips we have booked with him. He put us on some steelhead last year so we figured we would give him a call for some coho action this year.

We headed out early in the morning in Danny's drift boat near the Cascade river with the idea of fishing the Cascade river early in the morn and then drifting down the Skagit. We indeed struck silver after beaching the boat and walking a short distance, in one of his "secret" holes near the mouth of the Cascade. Several nice fiesty hatchery coho slurped the drifted egg clusters like it was their last meal..come to think of it..it sure was. All good quality hatchery fish in the five to six lb range. Anyway we hooked seven in the first couple hours and headed back to the boat. Finished out the day fishing the way high fast water of the Skagit. Danny was able to find a couple nice spots along the way so we tossed some spinners and managed to put one more nice coho in the boat along with too many to count pinks. Saw some beautiful sights and got to see so many fish spawning including some nice BIG kings that one would have to think there should be some good fishing in the coming years. Such a beautiful river system.

Thanks again Danny for another wonderful trip..give this guy a call before the fishing slows. It will be gang busters once the river drops.
