This was one of the roughest starts for fishing I've ever had. Woke up late, broke my set up while packing and then sliced my finger prety bad. And them i got to the river and flooded my boots with ice cold watery and no change of clothes. Then i started fishing and lost a couple rigs. Decided to call it quits, walked overt the bridge to look and reflect what the hell happened. I saw quite a few silvers from that spot, including a BIG red guy. I threw my eggs from the bridge and hooked into a 9 pound coho hen. My brother ran down to net it and then we left. That is my first coho ever. Quite a good fight.

Sorry to hear about the rough start to the day, sometimes those turn out to be the day you will never forget though. Ended up with a nice fish anyway. Good recovery.

It's not legal to fish from the top of the bridge. Under the bridge, or by its side (provided that your feet are on ground, not concrete) it's ok. Lucky you no police passed by (it does not need to be a ranger to get you on this one). Actually, some 4 years ago I saw a guy being arrested for snagging (ok, it was not fishing) from the top of the bridge.

Does it mention that in the regs? How do you know?

oh I see, theres a period after "bridge." thought it was a comma and you were saying we couldn't fish under or beside the bridge. Im guessing fishing from any bridge is illegal...

There are some exceptions, such as West Seattle bridge... but yes, most bridges are illegal to fish from the top of them. I believe that it mostly has to do if cars go through... pedestrian bridges (like the one on West Seattle) should be ok, but car bridges (even if there's a pedestrian walk) is not ok because you could hit a car when throwing the bait if you are not careful.

That isn't good for me... I looked in the regs and I didn't see any signs on or near. I even asked a couple locals there and they say people fish from that bridge all the time. Guess I wont do that anymore. Thanks for the info.
