It was actually a pretty awesome day on the river. I got the biggest coho of the season for myself. This was one of the best fights I've ever had. Hooked up about 40 feet out and reeled it in to within 15 feet of shore when it took off and spooled about 20 yards of line and jumped 2 feet out of the water...just like in the TV shows! :) Estimate 12 lbs.

My friend Marcia (who started fishing 4 days ago and caught fish the last 3 in a row) got her limit!

We both hooked our 1st ones on Dick Nite's. Mine was gold w/a red head and hers was green/white w/speckles. We both switched out gear as the tide changed and tried several things. She landed two more on pink marabou jigs.

I only gave it 4 stars because she caught more than me! D'OH!!!

Those are some nice fish man, right on! I wish I had the same luck as you at that spot. I was there from 11:00am to 4:00 on Sunday and got skunked. But I didnt try the Dick Nite's though, just pink marabou jigs. I have the chrome with green and black speckle DN. and the 50/50 copper brass DN. Is the incoming or outgoing tide play a factor in what a fisherman should use? because I didn't even know that there was a technique there? Your slayin those silvers man, keep it up. fish on and tight lines!

I'm kind of experimenting a lot. I'm in the Washington State Fishing Meetup on Meetup.com. There's a group of us that go out and once one person has something that works it goes around the campfire pretty fast. I was trying the DN today based on a conversation w/a fella at Three Rivers Marine that said he was doing great with it. After about 20 casts I said out loud "this is my last cast with this and I'm changing out" and about 3 seconds after I said that the big one nailed it. - get involved w/our group. 420 friendly/tolerant a must if you're fishing w/me.

Wow, those chromers are still really ocean-silver! Way to go, man! Still trying for my first one--at this point, can't tell down from up on my approach.
