Got there about 8am and fished the outgoing high tide. Started with a Blue Fox spinner w/no luck. Switched out to the gold/red Dick Nite I used yesterday and hooked up with one at 9:30. Fought it a minute and it spit the hook. I then lost my DN and put on a green speckled DN w/no luck.
Tried a corky/yarn (tiny red head and purp/blk/orange yarn) and got hooked up but again spit the hook.
Tried a purp/blk jig w/no luck - switched out to pink marabou and caught a beautiful rainbow trout.

Only saw 2 other coho caught. A couple of my buddies hooked up but didn't land anything. Overall a pretty dang slow day on the river, but I'm grateful I didn't get skunked!

I even said in the description it was a rainbow trout. Might have been a jack steelhead if there is such a thing. Was about 2lbs and fought like hell...way better than any pink this season and better than most of the coho.

Spots on tail are WAY TOO Big for a Rainbow. Nose too pointed. I'm thinkin' Humpy. But, I love it when a picture is posted that creates comments. Keep up the reports Seattle Pat. I enjoy them. Thanks.

was totally solid - fought like a demon. I'm telling you it wasn't a pink.

I'm looking at lots of photos on google images. Maybe it was a pink?? Colors aren't right and it was far stronger than any pink I caught that was even bigger than this. The only thing that looks like a pink is the tail.

Spots on back show it's a humpy and the jaw structure also shows its a humpy , the eye on that fish doesn't look like any steelhead I've ever caught either more like a pinks eye. nice chrome fish tho, better than a skunk anyway. Nice report

Seriously, Dude,
You have captured a rare, but vicious HumpyCo! It has taken years of cross-breeding in the wild, but nature has finally created a fish with the chrome finish and vitality of a Coho, but the spotted tail of a humpy. It sounds like it was a nice little fighter. I would take that over those zombie pinks any day.
