Man Down! Uggg, what a day! Went chasing coho after work. Fished for 2 hours near Kent. No rollers, not much happening on the surface. I tried spoons, blue foxes, and jigs. I actually caught two 14" ish trout on my spoon. Then some bearded old hobo showed up without a pole. He proceeded to then untangle some line from a black berry bush and throw a hook using his hands. I asked him what he was after and he said, " these fish, da!" He then pointed at dozens of zombie pinks. I laughed to myself and kept fishin. Next thing I know, he seeks up behind me, grabs my tackle box, and runs off up this hill. I threw my rod and the bank, waded out of the water, and chased after him. Luckily he was not that quick of foot and I gained on him rather quickly. That was until I badly sprained my ankle in a hole and went down. In a last ditch effort I threw a stick at him. It missed, but must have scared him because he dropped my tackle box in the road. It then exploded and all my stuff went everywhere. He kept running off down the road. I thought about jumping into the Hybrid Civic and running him down but decided on salvaging my stuff. I attached a pic of an old co-worker from my asphalt making days, because old Harvy kind of looked like the hobo that stole my tackle box. Hell maybe it was Harvy. Long story short, watch out for old bearded dudes fishing without poles!

Are you kidding me?! That's crazy. Sorry about your ankle and the whole thing. Fishing should be relaxing....but but apparently your gear works on Hobo salmon....LOL.

I know that guy, thats Nathan!! He hangs out by Winco and the bridges all the way up past 212th. One time I caught him pounding some MD20/20 just after he had left a steamin pile O' doo in the parking lot of my work lunch hole. Dirty rascal, unfortunately he will not be persuaded by your feeble attempts. One must gain physical advantage over such miscreants to dissuade such future action.

Dude that report just made my morning! Holy crap that was funny..."I know that guy, thats Nathan!" Oh my God I spit coffee up all over my keyboard. The picture attached sends the report over the edge. Great report man! Good thing you got your tackle back without having to tackle Nathan...That would have been really ugly and smelly.

Ankle blew up and turned black. I'm on crutches. Hope to be back in time for the next rain.

Montana Sam, this is by far the best read on WL! I can totally picture it, HILARIOUS! For some reason, Hobo Harvey reminds me of an evil transient version of the Swedish Chef..."these fish, da". By the way, did you get your ankle looked at? "ankle blew up and turned black" does not sound good--better make sure there's no fracture there. Hope you get back out there soon, so you can get more fish and we can get another good story (with no more injuries to you).Take 'er easy.

I went out scouting today. Didn't want to risk the ankle by fishing, I went to several locations from Kent to Tukwilla and saw zero surface action. Maybe, this isn't my year.
