Happy Thanksgiving!!

So after Sunday, when the guys throwing spinners were out fishing me, I had to come up with an answer. I think it is the cold temps making the fish sluggish. my jigs are a lot less invasive than a spinner. I have been thinking about going tip a mostly rubber leg jig any way. I like to use scent and the marabou can get weighed down by the oil.

With a couple prototypes tied up I decided to sneak down to the river before the family got up. I arrived with enough time to throw my waders on and get to one of my favorite spots before it was time to fish. After it was legal, I started casting. I went through with the white, pink, and blue first, but no takers. I walked back up and went through with the white. I was talking to a guy when the fish hit, but I still sank the hook deep enough to get it to the shore! He was only about 3 or 4 pounds, but first time with a new jig, I'll take it. I was out of time so I left. I fished from 7 until 740.

the white jig just had UV flashsbou and white/clear rubber legs on a 2/0 1/8th oz. I was trying to copy a spinner.

Thank you for the report. It is cool that you share your creations and the way that you came to that creation. I am in awe.

Nice report and fish. Like the picture of the jigs. One of these days I will have to cross that bridge and start tying my own as well. Tight lines...
