It's been a while since I fished river finally got a chance to go out today, fish retier from highway side I'm the second car on the lot, its the place was all white covered with snow ice, I welcome my self to the winter steelhead season. Got to the water and counted lots of flashlights across river on the hatchery side it figures most of the fish caught are from across river, counted bout 5 fish pulled out while I was there. Feeling the pressure wanted to move at the other side but decided to just stick on it for 3 hours.3 hours of nadda so packed up and decided to move spot. Found a hole next to a creek 5 cast and bam fish onto my suprise it was a coho firetruck buck on my home made jig, played it a while took photo and send him on. Did lots of cast and bobber goes down have high hope for my first steelhead of the season but nope it was a coho again but this one exactl looks the same as my first one, took photo and send it.swimming back. Then the beautiful sunbreak show up and I can see through the water I fish all coho swimming aroung most spawned some decent one but for some reason seems like there is only one that's willing to play coz I caught the same fish for 3 times. Very weird. Decided to head out and try the mouth of sky, got there and all I can hook is chum feisty big bright chum hook 3 all lost and swim away with 3 of my jigs. Started snowing so called it a day. Didn't hook my first steelhead but still fun catching fish of any kind.
