Stayed last night La Grande, Or for work, got my customers done by 12:30 and had to be in Lewiston Thursday morning so I drove through Enterprise and headed to the Grande Ronde through the snow sleet and freezing rain as fast as I could to hit the river before dark. It was a knuckle whitening drive till I got half way down the canyon. Got there a little after 3.

I was hoping Boggans Oasis was open to get a coffee, no such luck. Drove up to Cotton Wood creek and my third run through with a bobber and jig, down bobber. landed a nice bright o 5lb or so Steely. Missed 2 others and lost one. Around 4 I lost my set up to the rock fish in the middle of the river and decided to head to Lewiston. My belly was telling me so.

That Grande Ronde river is so beautiful in such an awesome setting. Seen deer, elk and a single ram. the water was on the rise with approx 2.5' of visibility. That perfect green blue color. I love this river and need to get a drift boat on it. There are many miles accessible by boat only. Did that once years ago with an old high school buddy.
