Finally came around to get to this. Went fishing sunday morning and had the best day for my winter steelhead season so far. Went 2/4 on steelies and this would have been a 5 star day but one of the steelies i lost was a huge native. Would have loved to get a picture but he broke my leader 5 feet from the bank. I set the hook on that fish and it took off instantly to the other side of the river. Took me at least 20 minutes to get close enough to see its adipose fin and then one last head shake and it was gone. The other one i lost came unbuttoned as it gave me a good aerial show. However i did go home with 2 hens so i got some good eggs and a good dinner for couple days.

Encouraging! Especially with the slow start so far.

There is definately fish there. I have hit steel pretty consistently every weekend I go out.

From my experience on the Sky, almost everyone floats jigs.

And good job to you Sthao!

All about time on the water, hope they were tasty, one looks more like a smoker, the hens can go soft quick. That is great action though, good for you!

When I filleted them at home, both still had quality meat so not a smoker yet. Definitely agree with puttin time on the water and moving around. If one thing doesn't work try something else and keep switching till you find something that works. Also my fish were the only ones I saw caught however there was no one around me
