Had a great weekend out camping and fishing with my brother. Started out Friday after work going over Stevens pass to the wenatchee river in hopes of some chinook but talked to a few people and heard it was pretty darn slow so I decided to continue driving over towards the yakima river. It definitely paid off. My brother and I decided to c&r those beautiful yakima bows for a while and then went into selah for lunch. Came back to our spot at about 1 in the afternoon and 2 casts in with my float set up and bobber down! I knew it was a good size one cause it gobbled those eggs up right after they hit the water. Took me on a few good runs every which way and then with a very lucky net job from my brother who has never attempted netting a salmon before, I landed a nice hatchery chinook. Probably around 15lbs. Great weekend. Had a big heard of big horn sheep come down towards the river while we were fishing. Saw 3 big bucks and a heard of elk. Tight lines! And keep your eyes open for all the cool wild life!
