After a slow morning fishing the Skagit River and catching a Sockeye. I thought I'd try my luck on the Sky. That's after cutting up my fish and mowing the lawn. I tried fishing under the Mann road bridge in Sultan. In hunt of a fat Chinook I come across this guy in a tent with a clown wig. Every color of the rainbow. Looked like a homeless dude straight from the streets of Seattle. I asked him if much people fish here. He told me a few people have fished here and caught fish but most people fish the cracker bar across the river. I thought I'd try it out for a hour. Nothing to lose. I set up a hook with a bait loop with salmon eggs and cast across the river as far as I could. Drifting my eggs across the bottom of the river. I could feel my weight bouncing off the rocks. Then my line started going up river. I pull my line in a little to feel it pull back. I start to real in and I feel no fight. Thought I might have a stick. I finish realling in my line to find a 15 inch rainbow trout. It was set free since I don't like the way trout taste. I fished for another hour before giving up. I did have a couple bites also hooked into bottom a few times. I finally hook into a monster a Mac Truck. It took my line straight tordes the rapids. This fish has some fight cause it's taking my line faster then I could real in. Then splash I see a fish roll and that's where my storie ends. A big Steelhead with red stripe and red belly snapped my line.

Still in hunt of the big Chinook. Maybe another day. I rated the day a three cause I had fun on a new spot. And I have dinner from another spot. All in all I'd have to say today was a good day

Great report, out of curiosity, where did you get the eggs from?

Thanks
