I know my report is not a current one but wanted to share anyways. I had an excellent fishing day at reiter hatchery side, fished with two of my brothers, all 3 of us caught our first steelhead. Two of my brothers caught their steelhead around 3:30pm after few hours of fishing. I was fishing most of the day with no takers. I was about to call it quits for the day but then decided to put a light pink 1/8 oz jig tipped with live sand shrimp. I cast my float and let it float almost all the way down to the big rock. So I tried a different method of a slow retrieve since it was tipped with a shrimp to see what happens, As I was watching my float and jig on the retrieve I've seen something just came on top of the water, and WHAMM! attack my jig. And by the feel of it I knew it was something big. At times the steelhead felt like it was just sitting like a rock and not budging. After I started to reel the fish a little closer that thing just booked spooling my line out. After it spooled my line out the line got tangled under a huge log on the bank on the right side of Reiter. But good thing one guy jumped in the water and untangled my line. Then after exhausting 20+ minute fight I finally brought the fish in and it was a monster hatchery steelhead! I measured it at exactly 37" long. So an excellent day of fishing and not bad for a first steelhead.

There were guys that came up to me and said wow,l that's the biggest fish they've ever seen that's been caught at Reiter. So guys any comments? Has anyone seen a bigger fish that came out of Reiter?
