Finally got the skunk off after a couple of outings at the Duwi. Arrived near the Tukwila Community center area at daylight and fished for a hour. There was no action so I moved down to the Boeing/112th area area and saw fish rolling through. Tried drifting eggs with yarn/corky in green mixed color with orange yarn on a 6ft leader. After 30 mins, I switched to 4ft leader and not long after, tap, tap, boom! my line starts moving. I finally hook into a 3lb silver and bring it to shore. Activity died down shortly after so I left 30 mins later. Went back to the community area hoping the fish I saw earlier would make its way up but didn't see anything. Weird.

Still trying to figure out a successful way to catch these fish consistently. I think this week I'm going to try experimenting with going shorter on the leader and even drifting eggs on the bottom with no corky. Haven't had any action with marabou and squid jigs. Could use some pointers for those who've had success here.

Well for one if you are using that green line as leader get rid of it. Use flourocarbon line as your leader.

Try a 3ft leader, with just a size 2 split shot for weight. Mono leaders work just fine, I've been using 15lb leaders.

One thing I'm noticing is people aren't reporting catching them twitching jigs, using bobber and eggs, or using spinners (no leader) which has me thinking drifting with at least a little current is the way to go and avoid the deeper slower pools where they often hang if they aren't in biting mode. Hopefully with cooler weather and some rain with increasing flow we will start seeing some more action on fox spinners or jigs (I am more a jigger :P).

It is nice to see some people getting into early bright fish and in some numbers :).
I wonder if the small size has something to do with more smaller fish making it thru/by the nets given the typical net mesh size for coho. Great to see the reports and success from a few guys! Keep it up.

Not many nets out yet but this Sunday they go in hot and heavy so get 'em while you can!

No, plain eggs or shrimp. If you want extra buoyancy, I hear the old timers tipped their eggs with a mini marshmallow.
